Bangkok 2009

We manage to get offer tickets from Tiger Airways. It was a very early flight and it was good because this gave us more time to move around in Bangkok. We got a limo taxi to bring us to and fro the airport. It was having an offer, so we paid about S$70 for both of us. The limo taxi is clean, comfortable and prompt.

I got the hotel from Agoda.com. I chose Grand Diamond Hotel Pratunam. It was cheap and it was near all the shopping areas that I wanted.

The hotel is old but very clean. I felt they were thoughtful in many areas. They were happy to let us used their shower room in the gym when they knew our flight was later in the evening.

There were alot of changes in Bangkok. They had developed quite a few shopping areas and still coming up with more soon. There were more Thais who were able to speak better English too. I was also fasinated with their services. They were pleasent and full of smiles. It was never too bothersome to them to explain their goods and we not buying in the end.

But for this holi, we explored more on Siam Paragon. We had heard quite a bit about it before we went.

Most of all, we wanted to try out their cinemas. Wow!! was the first exclamation that came out from my mouth. It was so beautiful and they had all kinds of cinemas.....all under one roof. 3D, special seats and normal ones. Of course, we tried out the special seats. Each costing 600baht which is about S$30. But all the money is worth it for the comfort and experience.

This is the main lobby tickets were available.

Around the area......

But for us, we purchased tickets in this lounge. There were drinks and cookies for us before the movie began.

There were the kind of seats we wanted......

He will not miss going to this temple. There were so many people in this temple, and I have to admire the dancers doing practically the same dance over and over again in the hot weather and having to wear the traditional dance costume.....Salute!!

Dim Sum Buffet

We love dim sum and we usually like to visit Pearl River Resturant in Suntec. Their food is fresh and tasty. We love their chicken feet and pork ribs best.

This is Raymond's favourite. Yang Zhi Gan Lu. I will whip it up myself around Nov or Dec because that's when Australian mangoes are available. I had tried it with Taiwanese mangoes but it doesn't have strong mango smell as to compare to Australian.

This is our favourite too. Xing Ren Lu. Good for skin and best for intestine, especially if you have constipation.

Then we had claypot toufu, sweet & sour pork and soon hock. Sweet & sour pork isn't very good. Not crispy and too much vineger.

These fresh prawns came free with every buffet we paid. 100g of prawns per person. They are really fresh and tasty.

We are looking forward to come to this resturant again with Cheche and her family. I am sure they will like the food too.

A New Look in Times Square

We made another trip to KL in July. Now that Berjaya Times Square had renovated, it is more expensive than it used to be. Nevertheless, we had alot of fun in the pool.

We bought a lot of personal and home stuff during their Malaysia sales. Their sales is much better than Singapore's.

But this time, our best search ended with Eu Yang Sang. They have a lot of different products than in Singapore. Best of all, they have herbal food that nourish our body and taste good.
